Haven't ridden it yet
Great ride, not alot of traffic
Suggest stopping in Greenville, AL overnight. A number of restaurants and hotel choices for dinner & breakfast. Easy access and safe parking at the Hampton Inn and Cracker Barrel (breakfast).
This is a local favorite ride along the Gulf. At Suncoast mine, you have the choice to go out to 19, or stay on Old Dixie Rd, but Old Dixie turns to dirt until you get to Aripeka Rd., then it's paved again.
225 from Spanish Fort to the Alabama River Bridge on Highway 84. Beautiful ride with lots of bends and curves and straight aways. Very little traffic. Lots of deer and maybe a logging truck.
Part 2 of Melbourne to Kennansvile ride. Tavel west and north on Canoe Creek Road, into old St Cloud across US 192 (13th St ) to lakefront. Cruise lakefront and meander on down into old downtown which was a cattle town back in the day, small shops, bars, cafes etc. Old School Cool. Caution traveling any farther west on US 192 (13th St) is downright dangerous for the severely bad city and tourist traffic!!! Traveling east on US 192 back to Melbourne gets very light in about 3 miles at Narcoossee Rd. Intersection, then east about 40+ miles to Melbourne..
Start on 192 in Melbourne, west through open country, light travel 4 lane highway, past St Johns River bridge at Fish Camp with rest-pub, to Holipaw Rd (441) at gas station blinking light (only one!). Turn left travel 10 miles to 'Forever Florida' a wild lands conservation park with tours, zip lines, horseback rides, restaurant. Have lunch or... continue south to Kenansville gas station at canoe creek rd. (Should be a blinking light) then turn right and see old FL town with 1880s hotel and stores. There are lake landings off of landings road at marked end of route. Continue on north on Canoe Creek Rd to visit old St Cloud (go to old downtown area for cafes and bars) then return east on 192 to Melbourne. Or return way you came. US 192 just east of town connects to old Melbourne highway which is another BBR route also.
Nice curves if using a little throttle. Get in some good left then right action. If you are a seasoned rider, this will not be a challenge, but if you have any novices following you, tell them to ride their speed and catch up in a couple of minutes. It is a short jaunt. Give homage to the 'Sandman'...if you ride faster than guardian angel can fly and drift off the road a smidge.
If riding above the posted speed limit you get a feeling like you are riding the tail of the dragon. Nice hairpin curves, if you have a little extra speed. If it is in the evening, start at Hwy 79 and do it in reverse, so the sun is not in your eyes. I added the Cemetery as a stop, just be aware there is a small amount of sugar sand to ride through. I slightly ride the edge of the grass, while my friend just powers through the center of the sand.
Scenic route through Sweetwater and Arcadia. Older textured asphalt with animals and random farm dirt in roads at times. Render due caution.
Anybody for Seafood? here's a local ride to Red Lobster that goes next to the Mouse House. After dinner, head back to Winter Garden.
If you want to see fireworks, but don't want to pay for a Disney ticket, take this ride at night.
This is a scenic ride around Lake Apopka. This route takes you through a wildlife park. The road is hard pack dirt in the park. It is a scenic ride that also goes over Sugarloaf Mountain.
A quick run from Winter Garden to Sugarloaf Mountain and back.
Curvy and dangerous during the week not so much the weekend
Ride though opens fields to nieghborhoods then into the city
A nice leisurely (speed limit 35) ride along the beaches of Jupiter Island. The some tree lined streets with curves in Port Salerno. On thru Stuart and across the bridge and Intracoastal waterway to have more ocean side driving. Stop for a bite at the famous "Archie's" or go on down to the inlet for some beach side dining.
South Pasco County - Trouble Creek corridor to Starkey area, Hwy 52, finish Hwy 41 to south Brooksville.
Back way to Daytona from Tampa area
Start your ride with a delicious breakfast served w/ amazing hospitality at Southern Harmony Cafe. Finish with a cold one & meet new friends at the Florida Cracker Tap Room.
Travel around Okeechobee via Martin Highway
